Our Cottage

The completely new build cottage is situated on a croft and has its own gate and driveway. The century old black house originally located on this spot was inhabited until the beginning of the 1970’s and then became derelict. For the outside walls we have used the same old stones from the ruin to keep the cottage as authentic as possible, with a couple of modern touches.
The location

The cottage is located just a couple of meters from the sea and directly next to the mouth of Kilmaluag river. With any luck you can spot seals, otters and even dolphins through the huge windows from the living area or from the deck. The open plan kitchen and living area has a wood burner and there is underfloor heating in all rooms. The living area has two comfortable chairs, a sofa, footstool and dining table and chairs, with breathtaking views to the sea, the mainland as well as the Trotternish ridge.

The interior

Each bathroom has a walk in shower, hand basin, toilet and one bathroom has a roll top bath.
The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances (fridge, freezer, induction hob, dishwasher, fan oven with grill and separate wine cooler) and in the utility you’ll find the microwave, washing machine and dryer.
All beds are comfortable boxsprings, one room with a kingsize double bed and the other with a super kingsize or two single beds.
The living has a smart-tv with satellite and blue-ray player and there is wifi in all rooms.
A wooden deck at the front of the cottage with deckchairs gives you the opportunity to enjoy nature at its best.
